Runnymede St Edward’s School is proposing to become part of an ‘all through academy’, merging with St Edward’s College with effect from 1st September 2015
Both the College and Runnymede Governing bodies have been in discussions with the Trustees of both schools (Congregation of Christian Brothers) regarding this matter and the Trustees support the principle that education in a school of the Edmund Rice Tradition should be made available to children of Primary school age, without reference to the ability to pay.
The consultation begins on Friday 21st March, ending on Friday the 6th June and, for procedural reasons, will be led by St Edward’s College. The College Governing body wishes to consult with all interested parties and you are invited to express your views on this proposal. A copy of the consultation document and the draft Admissions policy can be accessed by following the links below. At the end of the consultation period, the governors of St Edward’s College will decide whether to make a formal application to the Education Funding Agency (EFA) for this proposed change to be implemented. Parents should note that the proposal will require formal approval by the EFA.
The Runnymede Governing Body believes that being part of an ‘all through academy’ will enhance the provision for future generations. Children will have the unique experience of remaining in Catholic Education in the tradition of Blessed Edmund Rice, from 4 -18, with high quality education and pastoral care.
UPDATE:- PLEASE BE AWARE THAT RUNNYMEDE IS CURRENTLY FULL AND OVER-SUBSCRIBED FROM NURSERY TO YEAR 6. WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING ANY APPLICATIONS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
