Curriculum - CDT

In Runnymede, the children learn to work with a variety of materials in Craft and Design Technology. They begin in Year One with basic design processes, involving a simple brief, research and manufacture, toYear Six where they are expected to design and manufacture their own products according to their research and analysis of a main problem. They learn to use a range of tools safely and develop techniques for problem solving. As they progress, they are taught to evaluate their work and identify areas for improvement.

Over the course of their time at Runnymede, the children are involved in tasks relating to each of the following technological areas:

Food, Textile materials, Resistant materials, Electrical control, Mechanical control and Software.
