Childline—Year 6 meet Esther Rantzen
Pupils from Year 6 were delighted to meet the ChildLine founder and president, Esther Rantzen, when they showed her their artwork
The paintings and drawings were produced to mark ChildLine’s 25th anniversary next year.
We are actively involved in the charity and have raised funds for the service. Pupils chose the theme of ChildLine and the city of Liverpool because it highlighted the presence of NSPCC and ChildLine in the community. The artwork will be displayed in the ChildLine counselling room and throughout the building at the NSPCC Hargreaves Centre in Everton.
Speaking after the visit, Miss Rantzen said, “The artwork the children have created for ChildLine is fantastic. So much hard work has gone into it and I know it will be a focal point within the Liverpool base for all visitors, volunteers and staff.”
She was in Liverpool as part of a tour of ChildLine bases around the UK.
Mrs Brophy of Year 6 said,” It was a wonderful honour to be asked to make such as important piece of artwork for ChildLine in Liverpool.”
