Runnymede St Edward's School has at its heart the beautiful Victorian mansion of
Runnymede. The style and character of this building reflect the traditional values of conduct and behaviour found in our pupils. However
the
facilities and teaching methods found in our school are as modern as will be
found anywhere.
Under
a carefully managed programme, Runnymede's buildings have been extended
significantly, with recently built classrooms for the majority of our pupils and
substantial refurbishment for those still housed in the original building.
Our Nursery children enjoy our most recently completed building, being taught
and cared for in complete safety and comfort by a group of dedicated teachers
and NNEB qualified staff. With their own dedicated wing, and own distinctive
uniform, the Nursery pupils are nevertheless an integral part of the school
community.
The school boasts a modern
ICT suite, allowing for the
early development of computer skills, providing crucial teaching for the
modern world. However in addition to the computers housed in the ICT suite , you will find
computers spread throughout the classrooms for use by the pupils under
supervision as part of their normal lessons. This demonstrates the integral part
that ICT skills have become in respect to all modern learning.
Our
extensive Library facilities are used to promote reading skills and complement
the teaching of English as a central part of the national curriculum, as well as
being thoroughly enjoyed by all our pupils!
Sharing the sports facilities of our neighbours, St. Edward's College,
Runnymede can provide access to the most modern sports equipment. The use of astroturf
pitches and swimming pool for both normal lessons and extra-curricular
activities, together with sports field facilities, give pupils the opportunity to participate in a wide
variety of sporting activities, all under safe supervision and guidance.
With modern dining facilities and secure playgrounds all set
in the beautiful location of Sandfield Park, the facilities at Runnymede are all
of the highest standards, combining tradition and modern to give pupils the best
of all environments for their educational development and pastoral care.
