Runnymede St. Edward's School - enjoying an illustrious heritage. At Runnymede St Edward's School, we're very proud of our history, which stretches back to 1852 when a Catholic Institute was founded by the legendary Father James Nugent at premises in Hope Street in the city centre. His statue is sited in St John's Gardens, Liverpool, alongside St George's Hall.
Since then, the College has evolved into separate Senior and Junior Schools - and both have enjoyed a continual programme of improvement and development aimed at enriching the lives of their pupils, while providing then with a first class all-round education. In 1997, St Edward's College attained Grant Maintained status, while Runnymede St Edward's School remains an independent school administered by the Congregation of Christian Brothers. The School and College occupy the same campus, and both are united by their shared Roman Catholic traditions and Christian principles. Good discipline, good manners, courtesy - and a strong sense of right and wrong - are considered to be a essential part of the learning process at Runnymede. |
