Safer Internet Day

You may remember that Runnymede St Edward’s promoted a similar week last year at about this time in response to a nationwide initiative to highlight the problems some children and young people experience on-line.
The Early Years were introduced to Hector ( a dolphin) and his under-water friends

Junior children met the SMART CREW - Kara, Winston and friends whose adventures stated the SMART message

‘Children do not always realise that the personal information they post such as pictures and videos remains online and can be accessed by anyone, exposing them to risks such as cyber bullying or online grooming. Children and teenagers must be empowered to manage and control their online identity in a responsible way,"an EC media statement said.
It is essential therefore that we continue to emphasise the importance of good online safety procedures for our children. As teachers and parents, we all want our children's experience of the Internet to be enriching and, above all, safe.
