Sporting Activities
Sharing the sports facilities of our neighbours, St. Edward's College, Runnymede can provide access to the most modern sports equipment. The use of astroturf pitches and swimming pool for both normal lessons and extra-curricular activities, together with sports field facilities, give pupils the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of sporting activities, all under safe supervision and guidance.
Children from Reception to Year 6 partake in 2 P.E. lessons per week; one of these being a swimming lesson, where the children are taught by a fully qualified ASA swimming teacher. We follow the LCP scheme of work for P.E. with additional activities as stated below.
Key Stage One
Children from Reception to Year 2 follow the Val Sabin dance scheme and the children in the Nursery follow 'Action for Kids' also by Val Sabin.
Key Stage Two
Year 3 to 6 have a games lesson each Friday afternoon when the sports below are offered in rotation at appropriate times throughout the year.
The children also benefit from 'specialist' outside sports and dance coaches who visit us.
