Year 4
Welcome to Year 4
The children in Year Four experience a broad and varied curriculum.
In the Autumn Term, a visit from the Kinetic Theatre used
the story of Robin Hood to teach the pupils about energy.
In the Spring Term, a living History interpreter, Lucy the Tudor came to visit year 4. Her visit supported and reinforced our Tudor History topic and gave the pupils the opportunity to step back in time and experience butter making, weaving, spinning and other activities. Year 4 also had the opportunity to perform a Tudor Dance in P.E. to coincide with our work on Tudors.
World Book Day in March emphasised the importance of reading and gave Year 4 (and indeed all) pupils the opportunity to dress up as their favourite book character. Our Spring Book Fair also provided books for our two libraries.
A visit from The Young Shakespeare Company, with their performance of The Tempest provided our Year Four pupils with opportunities to write reviews, character studies and even indulge in some acting! The Company perform two plays a year for Runnymede and the experience is always a rewarding one for all those involved.
In the Summer term an eagerly awaited visit to Speke Hall took place. It was a beautiful day and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to add to their understanding of life in Tudor times.
